Dec. 31, 2005 ~ Tyler Wins Lakeport on New Years Eve-Closes year with
win!
After making the difficult trip through the high winds and
pouring down rains, we saw a beautiful day of racing with the sun
shinning through and good track conditions to ring in the new year!
On last minute notice, Tyler was to fill in for two drivers in two
different divisions. Tyler hit the track fast and settled into the
250 division with a second fast time. In the Open division subbing
for the points leader in that division, Tyler pulled off fast time
qualifying in the number one position. Shortly after qualifying
the track promoter consulted me with having to decide on only running
one division as someone had complained about Tyler racing the same car
in both divisions. I guess when Tyler did it earlier this year
winning the $800 to win money race held at the Lakeport outdoor track,
rule changes were made for future events. Knowing that on this day
the complaint came from within the 250 division I opted to keep Tyler in
with the 250's as someone was hoping to have him run only the Open
division. I felt bad as Kirt Organ the current points leader would
not earn any points on the night with my decision. Sorry Kirt!!
We normally do run two or three different karts on any given night.
But this week I had Casey McClain trying out Tyler's normal box stock
ride and Tyler's New open kart was seeing dad making some performance
changes in preparation for the up coming summer series. I wasn't
able to complete the motor by the weekend so the kart was left home.
I didn't get the call to have Tyler run for the other drivers until we
were already in Lakeport. So we did our best.
In the box stock division, Casey went out and set fast time in
qualifying and was looking very promising to take the win. In the
dash, Casey came from last to on the heals of second but ran out of time
before the checker and would start front row outside for the main event.
Casey was instructed to attempt to take the lead from the start as
Lakeport passing is a premium. Casey was caught outside and Kyle
Tellstrom made a great move inside as the first lap saw Amanda Moore in
the lead followed by Tellstrom and then Casey McClain. Tellstrom
and Casey made it by Amanda but Kyle was able to put distance between
himself and McClain before Casey was able to clear Amanda. In the
closing laps Casey was making up the ground but wasn't able to make it
up as Kyle Tellstrom took the win! Congratulations Kyle!!
In the 250 division Tyler started on the outside 2nd row and on the
completion of the opening lap was running 4th. On the next restart
Tyler made a great inside move into 3rd place and was chasing the two
front runners. Running 2nd place, Chase Johnson spun into the
infield and Tyler took over 2nd. Tyler now chasing the leader made
an inside move and started to spin in exactly the same place the Johnson
did. Tyler saved it and re-entered the track in 2nd with 3rd place
right beside him. Tyler picked it up another level and then closed the
gap between himself and the leader without the help of any yellows and
on turn 1 and 2 made a great inside move and came out with the lead
around lap 12. Tyler lead the rest of the way working lappers and
managing the yellows to the checker. Nice job by Tyler with a
great run!
Next week it's back to Red Bluff Outlaws! See you there....
Dec. 10,2005 ~ Tyler wins ALL-STAR TOUR
CHAMPIONSHIP
Tyler setting out in the beginning of the day just wanting to
make sure he ran strong at the last ALL-STAR TOUR race. Not just
because he needed a good finish to pull off his sweep of all Box Stock
Championships he entered this year but because it is most likely the
last race of the Series that has come to be know as the ALL-STAR TOUR.
There are no plans for the Tour to continue next year. Most the
promoters don't see any benefit in the effort and money it takes to take
the tour to the different cities.
So getting started, Tyler first went out to qualify his
MBS Powered Box Stock kart and in the
first round of practice/qualifying came up short of the top of the
field. With a quick gear change by the pit crew consisting of Dad
and Gary Morrison ( THANKS GARY!...hey, he knows how to drive just ask
him how is race went with a big cow last week?) he went back out and
pulled down 2nd fast time. I believe he would have made fast time
but each revolution saw him and Cameron Bartlett setting a faster lap.
On the last lap Tyler had caught the#24 Kart and was unable to get a
clean last lap. We felt really good with a 2nd place effort being are
first qualifying effort in box this season at Red Bluff.
In the 250 division, we came with again another completely different
setup to test for the next series race. The kart was very fast
setting the 3rd fastest lap in practice and in the final round
unfortunately something went astray as the engine quit giving Tyler a No
Time and would be starting for last if we made a engine change.
Gary a little sore from his race this last week, despite my
saying pass on the engine change didn't take no as acceptable.
While Tyler and I were off doing something else he dove in an started
the engine swap.
Tyler was back out running his heat and from the pole made it look
fairly easy against a fast #88 who trailed him all the race. Tyler
took the heat race win and only needed to have a good run in the main
event to lock up the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP.
In the Box Stock main event, the plan all along was to have a good run.
Not pushing it unless absolutely necessary as the Win was not in the Big
Picture. So starting on the 3rd row Tyler settled into 4th off the
start and ran in the saddle as he watched the front 3 racing it out.
It look like anything could happen has Cameron was pressing the front
runners pretty hard. Tyler did make a pass twice for 3 over Logan
Seavey but both times Tyler had to check up with near misses cause by a
wreck and a stall which in being very careful he gave the spot back to
Logan.
Tyler finished 4th at the checker and brought
home his 11th Championship Title.
Consistent driving mixed with winning wins championships. Being a
Hero and a Zero won't get it done in any sport. Tyler has always
shown great decisions on the track that help him get it done and keep
him out of a lot of trouble.
"Pistol" Pete Johnston finished his bid for the ALL-STAR TOUR along with
Kyle Larson completing the Corning Ford ~ Broken Bow Records drivers
sweep of the Tour. It was a great night of racing seeing the
very best go to work against each other. The open main event was
Star Studded as it saw Becker, Johnston, McCain, Hubbert Jr., Larson,
Foster and even Bradley Sweet race it out. Up front the bid for
first was a tight battle and it saw Michael Hubbert III pull off the
win!
Congratulations:
"Pistol" Pete Johnston, Kyle Larson and Tyler
Reddick on your Championship Titles!

Nov. 26, 2005 ~ Tyler Wins at Lakeport indoor series - pulls Triple
Duty
While Red Bluff Outlaws were off enjoying the Holiday weekend, others
were off racing at either Cylceland Speedway or Lakeport Speedway, as
they couldn't bare a weekend without racing. We found ourselves in
good company with the McGahan and the Andreasen families from Chico.
We all set out for Lakeport, as Tyler needed to gather up some time in
the box stock division in preparation for the last ALL-STAR TOUR race
coming up on Dec. 10, 2005. I wanted Tyler to have some short
track time verses the Cycleland Speedway big oval, as he hadn't been on
anything small and tight since the West Coast Nationals held at Red
Bluff in July.
We also set our goals on finding out what his new KTM 525 would be like.
So we put Tyler to the test, as I signed him up in three divisions.
Box Stock, 125/250 and the Open Outlaw Division would be his assignment
for the night.
Tyler came out in the Box Stock with his guns loaded and set fast
time, finished 2nd in the Dash and by Winning the Main Event in
Wire to Wire fashion. Most of the race he found himself way out
front, but yellows made it look closer than the race really was.
How about little Brian McGahan setting 2nd fast time in the box stock
division! Awesome job from the little 5 year old. He out
time several veteran to take his place in the dash and the A-Main event.
Way to go Brian!
In the 250 Division Tyler hit the track very fast, but spun on the first
lap of qualifying. He settled down to make sure had at least a
good time, but couldn't let it rip after the opening lap. He
qualified 5th fast then went on to dominate his heat with a win and
finished 5th in the A-Main event. The race ended much like it
started with basically no passing or position changes up front.
Tyler was able to move forward a couple of times but it was not as
yellows put the drivers back in front of him. James Edens won it
from the pole wire-to-wire. Mallorie McGahan with her new
SKE Kart made her debut running Tyler's backup YZF250 for the
first time. She ran tough and made some moves that impressed me as
she almost made the main event.
In the Open division Tyler cranked out a 5th fast qualifying effort, ran
4th in the heat and finished near the back of the B-main after making to
runs to 2nd place, but when things happened on the track he checked up
hard killing the motor each time sending him to the back twice.
All in all, it was a good first run in the Open Division with the KTM
525. It's very fast in stock trim.
Next week it's back to Red Bluff Outlaws for the next round of racing
there.
If you're a Jason Aldean fan, you might want to make this race as he is
going to be in town with the possibility of him opening the night
with the national anthem.
See you at the race...! and we hope everyone had a Great
Thanksgiving!
Nov. 18, 2005 ~ Tyler Reddick To Compete in Open Intermediate
Plans have been put into motion for Tyler to compete in the Open
Intermediate this summer at the Medford Outdoor Series.
Tyler will be running at least two divisions with the possibility of a
third during the Southern Oregon Speedways Season. Current plans
are to have him compete in 125, 250 and Open Intermediate.
We have lots of fun running all these divisions back to back as it makes
every Friday night a marathon. Tyler enjoys putting out the extra
effort and dad enjoys the hustle as well.
We have recently added another KTM to our inventory and the kart is near
completion. Tyler's new Open Intermediate will be a KTM 525
powered machine. Tyler will start with this package and someday I
will make him run the Honda CR500 as well.
Tyler is currently working on a new sponsor package for the Medford
Series in which we'll sport a complete new graphics package.
Sponsor to be announced at a later time.
Nov. 12, 2005 ~ Tyler Reddick finishes 2nd 250 Intermediate

After a little bit of a dry spell, Tyler gets set to start making a run
back towards the top and starts it off with a 2nd place A-main finish.
After weeks of Dad trying every possible setup configuration for the
hard-to-tame Red Bluff indoor race track, we finally came with a package
that was very fast and can be improved to give Tyler what he needs to
win in Red Bluff.
We came back with our new KTM ~ FMF equipped 250 four stroke and what a
difference. KTM has been dominating on the Motocross circuits
everywhere and now it looks like this engine will rock-n-roll on karts
as well. This thing would just explode in the straightaway and
demonstrated what everyone has been fearing "Its a Rocket".
Tyler withstood challenges from Brian Southers and Colby Copeland as
they tried to get by Tyler. Thomas Bruckenstein led the race from start
to finish as Colby Copeland was coming from the back of the field as a
B-main transfer. Thomas ran a great race as Tyler had a great run
and Colby was third with Seth Nunes 4th.
We still have a little more to gain, as I haven't spent anytime on jetting
and gear choices on the KTM. In addition, Tyler's car was still a
bit loose and Tyler can squeak out some better times by settling in and
hitting his marks. But the setup is fundamentally there as it required
really zero changes from qualifying to main. I always judge a setup by how good it is on all conditions. A setup requiring big
changes from one track condition to another is an indication that
something is out of balance on the car. Plus, then you can make
little enhancements from one run to the next as the night progresses that
will then give you the little extra.
Anyway, Tyler's coming and I look forward to this little 10 year old
mixing it up at the top from here on out.
Congratulations to Thomas Bruckenstein for his 2nd win of the season.
We also want to thank Mark Bruckenstein for his help on moments notice
this year for Tyler.
Nov. 5, 2005 ~ Tyler Reddick ~ Red Bluff Outlaws
Red Bluff is one of the hardest tracks anyone can run. Its not
forgiving nor do you have any chances to make setup changes in the
night if you're out to lunch. Out to lunch is where Tyler's kart has
been for the last few weeks as Dad has been searching for the best setup combination and has yet to find it.
Tyler has had more setup changes in the last four weeks than he has had
in his entire racing career to date if that gives anyone any idea of
what he has been going through. Hopefully, we will find the
perfect setup soon and be on our way to letting Tyler rock.
I am getting a little taste of what its like to start over and fight
your way back up to the top of a division in this move to the 250
intermediate division at Red Bluff. Tyler's setups have been good
everywhere else accept here so far. We'll find it and get going.
This week Tyler will be back on the KTM250SXF motor as we finally have
all the exhaust pieces. That coupled with a few more changes
and maybe we'll have found the right stuff.
Tyler looks forward to being back up front very soon as the last 2 -
weeks he as missed the A-main by one position. Something we need
to change ASAP!
Check back for more later.
Oct. 24, 2005 ~ Tyler Reddick Goes GATE
Not only is Tyler gifted on the race track, he has also been very gifted
in school as well. Two years ago Tyler tested in the top 96
percentile of children across the United States in Math, Reading and
Spelling.
Again this year Tyler excelled in testing and has been enrolled in the
GATE program ( Gifted and Talented Education ).
We encourage Tyler in his education and Mom spends lots of effort
helping both him and sister Haley with all the homework and education
needs.
We feel very lucky to have a small school that allows for Tyler to work
at his pace and recognize Tyler's abilities in each area of education.
Dad supports his school district by being on the board of trustees and
giving what effort he can with his already busy schedule.
Tyler loves to compete in any arena and strives to win. His
devotion to being up front pays dividends constantly and rewards him for
his efforts.
Oct. 22, 2005 ~ Red Bluff round #2
I'll put more up on this race later. For now I'll give just a
brief update of how the racing went.
Our night was much the same as the week before without the incidents
that took Tyler to the back. The night found Kyle Larson subbing
for the 31c and taking the victory from the pole of the A-main event.
Most of the top karts made it into the A-main as well which led to a
pretty action packed race.
This division and the current track conditions combine to make passing
difficult. Looks like the easiest way to go forward is to stay out
of trouble.
In the heat, Tyler was on the pole of a loaded heat race which had
Bruckenstein, Chase Hill, Jason Mittry and Colby Copeland all in there
together. Tyler led it start to finish with Colby Copeland 2nd, Chase
Hill 3rd and Thomas Bruckenstein 4th.
Tyler started the main event on the fourth row outside. We came
back this week with our YZ250F engine package as I wanted to see if the
KTM or the YZF could demonstrate which motor might have the advantage.
School is still out on this issue, but I can say that both are running
very good. I think the KTM will have the edge when I have
everything to complete the deal.
Tyler was able to come home in the 7th place even though he was fighting
a tight tight race car set up. Next week I think we can hit better
setup selections as we didn't bend the kart this last run.
I always look forward to getting back at the track once the new week
comes. We just love to race and feel like a fish out of water
during the middle of the week.
Congratulations to all the winners of the RBO 2nd round and see you next
week.
Oct. 15, 2005 ~ Red Bluff Opens Season ~ round #1
Red Bluff Outlaws opened their season with a great show. Parking
is a little tight with the new layout, but I'm sure it will improve as
everyone adjusts.
Track conditions were at its best as qualifying opened. Tyler is
running only the Intermediate division, as Red Bluff rules only allow a
competitor to race just one division.
In the 250 intermediate division, as karts hit the track they found a
well-packed smooth surface to lay down some awesome times. All the
times from the first session pretty much held up for most of the drivers.
Drivers in the first two groups set time that would be hard to match.
As time trials went on the time fell slightly. For the most part
efforts from the second set didn't change the qualifying picture much.
Tyler qualified at the 12 position and drew the pole for the 3rd heat
race. Trying to make the pass for the lead on the opening lap,
Tyler was stuck on the outside and shuffled back before being able to
move forward. Tyler finished 3rd in the heat and would go on to
the A-main event.
In the A-main Tyler ran as good as 3rd prior to have misfortune on 3
different occasions. After trying to miss Colby Copeland and being
slammed in the rear from Grant, Tyler found himself in the wall with a
bent kart. Tyler continued with a limping effort to finish 11th.
We hope for better racing luck next week so we can improve on our
opening night. Tyler is currently in the top 10 in points and some
25 points behind the leader of Thomas Bruckenstein.
The Series is sure to be a hot one as it is really hard to pass in all
divisions. Contact might find you and you might find yourself in the
very back very quickly. I think this series will go up and down
like a roller coaster.
Oct. 8, 2005 ~ Tyler runs Open Outlaw Cycleland 100 lapper - finish
3rd
In Tyler's debut at Cycleland Speedway in the Open Division, Tyler
rocketed home with his smooth consistent driving to a 3rd place A ~main
finish. Tyler was the only 10 yr old in the field with the next
youngest competitor being 13 years old. The remainder of the field
consisted of primarily later teens and 20's and some as old as 45 years.
The day was a great time as Cycleland was holding its Awards Banquet and
the season finale race. Everyone was there for a good time without
the normal points pressure and just letting it hang out in general.
Many of the racers stepped up outside of just their normal events and
took their efforts to other divisions. The food was great, the
track was awesome and the 100 lap main event structure put on a great
show for everyone to compete in and watch when waiting for their turn on
the track.
The day started out with the Pro-Stock division and as the first few
races unfolded, it saw some of the top drivers fall out with
misfortune. That was the case of Casey McClain as he was leading
both the Pro-Stock division and the Box-Stock to only see both his
attempts at winning vanish as both his motors failed early in the
events. Jake Cartwright suffered some bad luck as he was very fast
early in the 125/250 intermediate division but was set back when he
suffered some kind of mechanical problem. I do believe he went on
to finish but he looked like a serious contender to win when he was up
front prior to the difficulty. James Edens was another who
suffered problems late in the race, as he almost made it three wins in
row running some 300 laps. Kyle Larson was running a backup motor
as his normal was not available and looked a little under-powered to
Edens, but managed to get to the front anyway and with hard work and very
accurate driving still was able to capitalize on great pit strategy and
taking the win. Great Job Kyle!
So the first three races saw James Edens and Kyle Larson emerge as the
only two victors.
Tyler sat out of the intermediate division, as we wanted the day to be an
easy going venture, as the family had been pushing it throughout the
entire race season. Most of the time with double and triple duties
for dad and Tyler. So going in we planned to only run one race.
At sign up, we joined both divisions ( Intermediate and Open division )
as I was not sure which one we would run. Track conditions were to
our liking, plus I wanted to put Tyler's new KTM powered machine to the
ultimate test. In qualifying Tyler made good times in both
divisions. Being able to qualify twice gave me a chance to test
gear ratio's quickly with nearly the same track conditions. With a
slight change Tyler took off an additional 3 tenths timing in at 10.7 in
the Open division.
After a short talk with Tyler the decision was made to only run the open
division and give it our best shot.
I ran our pit strategy past Tyler and instructed him to just stay clean
for the first 66 laps. Then he could make a run in the last 33 lap
segment, as we would not take tires or fuel and push him to the front. We
were going to stop on all pit stops, but after watching Larson's skip
their last chance at fuel and then making the distance, I was sure we
could do the same. Thanks Mike and Kyle!
As the last pit stop came we stuck to the plan and pushed Tyler right to
the line and would restart 3rd. 27 karts started the main event
and I estimate some 12 to 14 were still racing at the end. The race
finished up with Tyler McCain wining and Kyle Larson 2nd, Tyler Reddick
3rd.
Our tires held up and didn't require any replacement, as we stuck with
hard compounds from the start. Lowell wanted to see more pit
strategies get involved in these 100 lap events. Looks like he may have
found the combination, as some drivers had flats or were not competitive
any longer when they used their tires up. So I'm not sure if we'll
ever see any longer races based on increasing the pit strategy issue.
Knowing Lowell I am sure he'll be trying new things in search of the
ultimate show.
Not bad for Tyler in his debut running a KTM 250 SXF against the other
Opens most of who were running 500cc machines. Tyler was fighting a tight race car,
but was managing it well.
In the end, its a great day to go to the track and race as the format is
awesome. I hope Lowell would consider running two of these each
year. One at the half-way point of the season and one at the end.
I think it does all lot of good for the families involved in the race, as
they seem to work more together on this race. Thanks Lowell!
Tyler wishes to thank all his sponsors and race track staff for the
great year at Cycleland Speedway.
Thank you !

Next year it will be Intermediate and Open Intermediate and limited Open

us.
Oct. 02, 2005 ~ Tyler to compete in 125/250 division at RBO
Tyler will be leaving the Box Stock division after the last All
Star race being held during the Red Bluff Outlaws Winter Series.
Tyler may have some surprise appearances in the division as he would
remain eligible to run the Box Stock division for another 3 years at
tracks other than Red Bluff Outlaws. At RBO you can not move down a
division once you move up regardless of age.
I would not count him out of running some perpetual trophy nights at
various tracks if Tyler chooses.

photo
courtesy of Elite Sports Photography
Meanwhile it has been planned for Tyler to move up and not spend any
more time pursuing any additional titles in the box stock division.
You run against a time clock of trying to advance as far as you can
before you become too old.
Tyler will be adding some additional venues to his schedule for this
next years summer season. We will later announce the future plans.
Certainly we will be seeing Tyler in an open this next year at
pre-determined races as well.
Pete Johnston will continue to race his SKE sponsored kart. Tyler has
learned a lot from Pete and really wishes to thank Pistol for everything
he has done. Thanks Pete!
Oct. 01, 2005~Tyler takes Cycleland Box Stock Championship!
Congratulations Tyler Reddick on your
10th Championship!
It was Championship Night as racers took to the race track for the final
points event of the Cycleland Speedway's Summer Series. In
addition, it was Perpetual Trophy night so everyone had something extra
to race for.
Many divisions had point chases coming down to the wire as the final
night was closing. Tyler wishes to congratulate all the Champions
and all the winners of the Perpetual Trophies.
A couple of drivers were in the hunt for maybe taking home two perpetual
trophies on the night. That was the case in Kyle Larson's bids for
the evening as well as Casey McClain. Both had strong chances at
bringing home two of the big traveling trophies. Kyle Larson saw
his chance at both trophies fall when he was over taken on the final two
laps of the open intermediate event, as he stayed focused on the bigger
picture of just bringing home the championship in that division.
Casey McClain saw his bid fail when something gave on his kart during
the Pro Stock main event.
Kyle Larson took home 2 championships and 1 Perpetual trophy.
Casey also brought home a championship in the Pro Stock division and 1
Perpetual trophy for his win in the box stock main event. The two
enjoyed very big nights... Congratulations Kyle and Casey!!!!
Tyler came home 2nd place on the night and wrapped up the Championship
in Box Stock. Tyler will have finished the points case some 26 to
28 points ahead of James Edens. That will end up being a larger victory
than the one last year over Chase Hill. That season went down to
the wire as well.
Tyler wants to really thank Steve Goodridge of MBS Motors for providing
excellent powerplants for Tylers 10th Championship bid! We
couldn't have done it without him as certainly Predator Motors gave it's
all in attempting to keep a 2nd Cycleland Championship from Tyler.
Sept 24th~ Tyler Finishes 4th in 250 Division and sets fastest lap~Cycleland
Tyler was on a roll as he was sitting on the pole for the 250 main
event. From the very start I could see that Tyler was determined
to go after the win in the division that will soon be his full time
focus as the box stock days are almost over.
As I stood up on turn one at Cycleland, Tyler came "Thundering" in to
the turn hammered down to take the lead at the start. After a very
early yellow, again the restart had the same result with Tyler coming
out of turn two with the lead. In the next few laps Tyler
continued to thunder away as he knocked out the fastest laps in the 250
main event.
On about lap 9, another yellow flew just in time to save the tail end of
the line from going a lap down. On the restart Mr. Colby Copeland
was able to come out on top taking the lead as Tyler was not having
great restarts. In the next few laps Tyler kept the heat on as he
was right on Copeland's heels. Meanwhile, Kyle "MopHead" Larson
had run down the leaders and started putting on additional pressure.
Tyler's right rear wheel became plugged with mud and cause Tyler to
almost spin in turn 4 giving up 2nd to Kyle Larson and Mason Moore
squeeze by for what was then 3rd and Tyler fell to 4th. Tyler
regrouped and came home in 4th. Up front the race became very exciting
as the front three diced it out at the finish and Colby Copeland held on
for the win with Mason Moore 2nd and Kyle Larson 3rd.
It was a great show...! All the Kids ROCK!
Sept 17th ~ Tyler races to point lead at Cycleland Speedway
It was an interesting night for Tyler in the box stock division as going
in he was 1 point behind the current points leader Tyler Seavey.
In qualifying the points series would see a new face assume the lead for
the championship. Tyler Reddick with his 4th place qualifying effort
pushed him in the points lead as he will try to make it two
championships in a row at Cycleland.
The series is going to be a tough one as it comes down to the wire
between Tyler Reddick and James Edens. Edens was able to lessen
Tyler's points lead by finishing 1st in the main event and Tyler coming
in 4th.
The main event opened with Tyler getting a great start but was
immediately dumped by Cameron Bartlett in the first corner. It was
almost disastrous for Tyler but he recovered into the 6th spot 2 places
behind James. The two raced forward and several times saw Tyler giving
James some real pressure. But as the race went on the two move up
to 3rd and 4th. As the last lap was coming, the leader Allison
suffered an engine losing power and Cameron Bartlett was then held up
and James Edens was able to slide by both for a quick win. Tyler
wasn't able to get by as they came to the checker. It was a great
run by both the drivers. I can't help but think that if Tyler
hadn't been dumped in the first corner that things would have worked out
different.
It's going to be real tough racing between the two contending for the
Championship bid. Racing luck will most certainly determine the
out come with only two more rounds to go.

Tyler having fun on Championship Night along with the awards
banquet wanted to give all his fans all he could. Tyler put is
best effort forward as he drove his heart out. Tyler raced in Box
Stock, 125, 250 and Open Outlaw divisions. Tyler had run some
estimated 140 laps mostly back to back.

In his efforts him came home with another box stock win, 2nd in the 125
and 250 division and finish 7th in the Open division.
The line ups for Championship ~ Awards Banquet Night were
determined by pill draw with a full invert being applied to the line
ups.
Box Stock saw Tyler doing his normal of going out front and pulling
away. The local racers have come along way on getting up to Tyler's
speed. They have all been lots of fun to race with during the
series. Tyler won both his heat and main event.
In the 125 division Tyler started 2nd row outside and worked his way to
second. He put the pressure on 1st place finisher Putnum but just
couldn't get by him. The race was a could wire to wire run by both
the front runners as they had to navigate traffic.
The 250 division saw a repeat of the 125 as Tyler and Putnum were again
out front and getting away while working traffic. Again it was a
close race with Tyler challenging at the line but finished 2nd.
For Tyler last and final race of the evening, Tyler took to the track in
the Open Outlaw division. Starting last row outside, Tyler was
patient and waited for a good time to attempt to move forward. As
trouble happen on the track it unfortunately caught Tyler as well.
In the closing laps as Tyler had moved into 5th it looked like something
was going to happen in front of Tyler and it did. Tyler decided to
clear high and wide after the earlier wreck when he went low and was
collected. this time the same resulted as Tyler had to leave the track
to miss the contact. Not stopping but giving up lots of ground,
Tyler came to the checker in 7th place.
We had lot's of fun racing at Southern Oregon Speedway this year.
Everyone made us feel really welcome. We hope everyone enjoyed
watching Tyler do his thing as it was exciting!
Sept 3rd ~ Tyler races to a "Clean Sweep"
of Round #5 of the ALL-STAR TOUR
Tyler and family rolled into Carson City Nevada on Sept. 2nd in
preparation for the 2nd to last round of this years ALL-STAR TOUR.
Dad wanted to focus on just the one division in which Tyler is running
for Championship rights. So on practice day, we stayed committed
to finding what was going to be the best combination for all the events
to come ( qualifying, heat, dash and main event ). After a busy
night of practice and some pretty darn good racing in the last practice
set, we were ready for the show. I mention the last set, because
it saw the main 3 front runners of the series go head to head in
what was basically a 3 car race preview of what was to come.
Tyler wanted Dad to spend more time getting his 250 division car ready,
but I only let him hot lap it and made no adjustments, as I was busy
enough with just the Box Stock. So his 250 program suffered.
Tyler hit the track ready to go..., in qualifying he paced the field by
slightly more than a tenth of a second per round. That was good
enough to earn him the pole for the fast heat.
In the heat, Tyler drove away for the win with not much challenge from
the rear. He took the checkered flag with about a 1/3 lap lead in 8
rounds.
The Trophy Dash saw one of the only restarts all night. The
original start was called back as the track officials thought Tyler left
a little early. The second start saw Tyler Seavey take the lead
from the start. By lap 4 Tyler Reddick was able to take charge of
the trophy dash and put himself in control by passing Tyler Seavey and
earning him the pole position for the Main event.
In the main event, Tyler Reddick pulled off a nice start and took the
lead. Knowing what a win would mean this night, Tyler made the
decision to protect the bottom verses really opening up. Running a
tight bottom groove proved to be all Tyler needed to bring home the win
and take charge of the points lead in this years ALL-STAR TOUR with just
one round remaining. Tyler's win gives him about a 24 point lead.
He will need to only finish 7th place or better if the current 2nd place
in points was to win at Red Bluff to win the series.
Final round will be held at the middle of the Red Bluff Outlaws Series
this coming winter at the Red Bluff Fairgrounds. Check out the
www.rboutlaws.com site for
schedule and updates.
Congratulations Tyler!
Aug 26th - Tyler rocks at Southern Oregon Speedway on Championship
Night!
Tyler was on fire as So. Oregon Speedway hosted their final points night
of the 2005 race season. They'll will hold one more race on Sept.
9th combined with their Awards Banquet.
Tyler found himself behind in the points battle chase for the
intermediate ( Box Stock ) championship, as he had suffered a breakdown
earlier in the season. The same motor that failed him more than
twice at the Indoor Red Bluff Outlaws season had let him down yet again
in the So. Oregon Speedway championship hunt. Needless to say,
that motor is gone and will never be run again by anyone. Starting
the night out with a 1 point deficit, Tyler came out hot and fired up
from the get go.
The format is usually qualifying with the heats being lined up in a full
invert and the mains inverted by a pill draw. The Trophy dashes
and qualifying efforts do not earn any points for the drivers.
Being the last race, the main event line ups would be straight up. The
heats would still be fully inverted.
In the box stock heat, starting in the last row Tyler was called for a
jump start, which he was penalized on the first yellow. On the
restart Tyler charged again to the front to take the heat race win.
Tyler decided to sit out the box stock trophy dash as no need to chance
any damage to his ride before the main event. He would need a 3rd
place finish or better to lock up the championship.
In the main event from the pole position, Tyler pulled away and only
needed to work lapped traffic as he rocketed off to victory and yet
another Championship.
In the other divisions Tyler made it 3 in a row at Medford in the 250
division by starting front row outside of Josh Keheley. On the
start, Tyler drove in high and deep to make the pass on the outside then
rocked on to take the win.
Tyler will have finished the Medford Championship season by scoring a
1st place in the intermediate and 3rd place in the 125 and a 3rd place
in the 250 division. In the 250 division Tyler missed the first
race of the season as he competed in the 500 jr divsion.
Congratulations Tyler Reddick on your
9th Championship!
Southern Oregon Speedway - July 15th, Tyler scores a sweep!
Tyler was again in for triple duty as he is eligible to run 3
different divisions. Tyler for the second week in a row set the
pace in all three division during qualifying.
In the Box Stock (intermediate) division, Tyler earned himself a
clean sweep as he went perfect on the
night. The racing in that division proved to very exciting as
Tyler came from last in the trophy dash to take the win by inches at the
checkered.
In the main events, the crowd saw Tyler pull off back to back to back
races as he put on a very big show of how tough this little nine year
old is. Tyler won the box stock, then switch to the 125 class with
no rest for another 25 laps finishes 4th and then went on to the 250
class with no rest for another 25 laps. In the closing laps the
race didn't see Tyler fading as he in had caught 2nd place and was
threatening for the position at the flag.
We enjoy our racing and the visit at Southern Oregon Speedway as the
fans are very friendly and bring over their entire family to meet little
Tyler after and during the races.
Thanks! Southern Oregon for making us feel at home.
Hardee's Summer Shootout Series - July 12th
Tyler worked very hard on this series, every time we turned
around something kept happening. This last week as we went to take
the grid, Tyler's "Raceceiver" ( a battery operated radio receiver ) had
a malfunction requiring attention prior to going on the track.
Tyler had already been placed on the grid so my attending to it cost
Tyler his starting position and he would be forced to start from the
rear (28th). Tyler made it up to 18 as the field was started in single
file. It was a nice run but you just can't make up that muck
ground.
I thought the penalty was a little stiff considering other drivers have
been getting away with getting assistance on the grid. The
official told me that "it never happens" that someone goes up there and
doesn't get penalized. The very next division that took the grid
had someone go up to a car and I grabbed the official and rubbed his
nose in it... as he didn't penalize that driver as the crew stated they
did not touch anything!.
Tyler has had lots of fun racing the division is actually in the top 5
fastest cars. Racing events have kept Tyler out of the Winner's
Circle for now.
Next year we'll get them as the fastest drivers are already 12 years old
and Tyler is only 10 and can ran this division another 2 full years.
Hardee's Summer Shootout Series- July 5th
Tyler arrived at Lowe's hot off the airplane just in time to make
the last part of Monday's practice session. During practice, Tyler
was very fast and not being passed by anyone. So we felt very good
going into the next nights racing. Tyler would start the night
being 11th in the points standings with being only 35 out of 4th.
On the start of the heat race, Tyler was 3rd row inside and had a little
bit of a slow jump on the start. This cause a small gap between
Tyler and the car in front of him. A car on the outside pulled
down before the start finish line and ran into Tyler banging him pretty
hard. The hit caused Tyler pain in his harms which would hurt his
effort for the remainder of heat. In just a couple of laps later
another car spun leaving Tyler nowhere to go but Tyler did miss the
collision but spun and recovered to finished 2nd to last at the
checkered flag.
We went to work cleaning the car and checking out the contact.
Everything was okay with the car and Tyler's arms were better. I
took a break to get Tyler some chicken and something to drink so he
could be ready for the B-main and then the A-main as I know he would
have made transfer out. The printed schedule show as usual the
B-mains and A-mains to be run after opening ceremonies. So I listen for
the different races and waited for the opening ceremonies to start
before taking Tyler and his car up to wait on the grid for the start of
his B-main. Well, they ran all the B-mains prior to the opening
ceremonies and we missed Tyler race!
I found out afterwards, that in the drivers meeting they changed the
schedule they were handing out at the door. I did not attend the
meeting as I was getting Tyler's car ready for the heat races hat start
right after the drivers meeting. Though lesson, as we have never
missed a race line up before and I usually attend all meetings.
So Tyler never took the green in the B-main and will have a finish of
something higher than 35th or so.....!
We will still be going back the next few weeks and most likely finish
out the series as Tyler can still get back to the top 10 and maybe even
the top 5.
Red Bluff West Coast Kart Nationals- July 2nd, 3rd, & 4th

Bob Carrel, Tyler Reddick and Steve
The Red Bluff Nationals would see a new format and point systems for
determining A-main starting positions to let the drivers race it out for
who would be crowned the National Champion!.
Best total points computation would place the driver on the front
row of the A-main. 200 pointS would be given for fast time in the
qualification rounds with the next fastest driver earning 2 less points
and so on. The Box Stock Fast timer would be the only driver
drawing a pill to determine heat race starting positions base on 4
possible invert options. Tyler being the fast time in box received
the honors and pulled 2 chips on the first draw ( a 1 and a 2 ).
Needless to say, Tyler had to draw again and pulled out a 4 which would
mean that all drivers in all divisions would see a full invert in the
heats.

Tyler was in heat#1 and managed to pull off a 2nd place finish to Tyler
Seavey at the checkered flag. Heat race finishes would score the
driver's 100 point for 1st and a 3 point differential for every
position there after.
Tyler scored the front row pole position running his new MBS Sponsored
Engine. This was the first race in over four years that Tyler
would be powered by anything other than a Predator Motor. Many
people have complained that Predator was to good to Tyler over the years
and that Clarence Marshall was to close to Tyler's Dad. But
Predator all started with Clarence Marshall and Tyler Reddick over 4
plus years ago and became the choice of many drivers racing today.
Hopefully Tyler can now prove its more than just a good motor that's
needed to win. Now, he can do his best to but on a great show for
MBS and Steve Goodridge as he is very please to be running this motor.
Congratulations Steve !
On the opening night of racing the format called for invitational
main events to be run to show case the "best of the best" in Outlaw Kart
Racing! In the Box Stock division, MBS brought home the top five
positions in the A-Main.
On the final day of racing, MBS took the top two positions and 3 of the
top four as Tyler won the big one and Cameron Bartlett was 2nd, James
Edens 3rd and the #88 fourth.
Congratulation Tyler, Cameron, Steve Goodridge and Team MBS.

Hardee's Summer Shootout Series Update

Did Someone Say Bandolero's ?

Kyle Beattie and his Thunder Roadster
Tyler and Dad, have been very busy with the long weekly commute
to Lowe's Motor Speedway for the Hardee's Summer Shootout Series.
Tyler after starting the first round of the series which ended with a
DNF placing him at 26th in points, has battled back to 11th in points
after the 3rd round. He is now just 5 points out of the top ten
and 35 points out of the top 4 in points standings.

Click on Points standing for larger image, Tyler Wowing the girls and
Simpson World. He has a bad habit of doing this at Hooters too!
So far, the series has seen only one clear leader at this point.
Most nights the finishing order has been very mixed up with past weeks
leaders finishing in the back and vice-versa. Tyler has had some
very good runs which have been earning him some points. He has
started no better than 14th in the mains and has run up to 5th before
some racing event has stifled his great runs. This last week
Tyler missed starting on the pole for the A-main (which was trimmed down
to just 28 of 38 cars) by one position. He then started on the 7th row
and drove to 5th before a car in front of him spun leaving Tyler
no-where to go but off the track as he had a car below him.
Leaving the track and taking to the grass at about 50 mph, Tyler spun
but picked up but would be restarted 2nd to last. He drove back to 10th
at the flag on a night of double down points. Had he finished in
the top five Tyler would be in the top seven in points as of now.
Tyler can get there has the Series sees two more double points nights
before the end of the Series.
Tyler will soon be on the pole and most likely take the win. Tyler
is very excited about this years Shootout and wants to compete in the
entire series. Looks like dad is in for the long haul.

This place has live Bass and who knows what else!
Tyler is competing against the "best of the best" in the Bandolero
Racing world and with his very limited experience his coming up very
strong. He just wants to show everyone that he is someone to
reckon with. Two of the fastest cars are driven by 12 year olds
which have plenty of experience. If they only knew how little time
Tyler has racing this venue I think they would be very nervous.
Tyler's coming and coming fast as he adjusts to this program with only a
grand total of 6 races ever in a Bandolero over the last 3 years.

Tyler at Outdoor World and how about those Candy Apples!
The field is made up of some very notable names like Wallace, Lajoie,
Blaney and Stroupe.
More later with pictures and all, just short on time right now. We
have had lots of fun traveling plus meeting lots of new people and
friends.

These Folks are from Sacramento and we hope they'll call us later!

June 19th - Summer Shootout Series
Tyler is on his way back to Lowe's Motor Speedway for round #2 of the
Hardee's Summer Shootout Series Tuesday June 21st.
Tyler and I will be leaving out of San Francisco International tonight
at 10:25 p.m. and arriving in Charlotte tomorrow around 8:00 a.m.
There was lots of work to be done to Tyler's race car after last weeks
contact which resulted in the chain coming off along with the shock
tower and rear axle being bent. Repairs have been made and if
there is no rain Monday night we'll get to test.
Hopefully everything will be perfect and Tyler will then be set for an
excellent shot at taking the win on Tuesday Night.
I will report more on the story when we get back and will try to get
lots of pictures of Tyler at Lowe's for everyone.
Go Tyler!
June 13 & 14 - Summer Shootout Series
Tyler made the red eye trip to Charlotte North Carolina this last Sunday
as we flew through the night and arrived at 6:00 a.m. Charlotte (3:00 a.m. California time). We went directly to the race shop to
check out his seating in his Bandolero which we haven't seen in a full
year.
Pedals, seat and Steering wheel were all in need of being re-positioned
to fit Tyler comfortably in the car. Time only allowed for the
making of new pedals and installation before needing to leave for the
track.

Once at the track, we were on for practice. At first Tyler was not
up to speed, but we fully expected that after not racing this car or
venue in over a year. By second practice, Tyler already showed
signs of being close to full speed. In fact, in the second
practice we were able to sneak Tyler out with the older group (young
Guns) and Tyler placed them just fine.
Next up was the race they run at the end of every practice night.
Tyler started last of the 10 car field and was able to finish 3rd as the
checkered fell.

Tuesday June 14th the opening day for the 2005 Hardee's Summers Shootout
Series. We took to the track after having a long discussion with sign up
officials as to Tyler's starting position. They closed the pill
draw as we were standing in their line for over an hour. They
wanted Tyler to start in the back. I had a fit, but managed to
stay cool and persuaded them to consider being far. They came to
their senses and pulled a pill for Tyler which earned him a second row
outside starting position for the heat.
The heat race saw the front row outside racer decide to fall to the back
moving Tyler to the front row! Things were looking really good for
Tyler as I fully expected him to either win it from there or finish at
least in the top 5. From the start Tyler did take the lead and
immediately started going backwards as the car was pushing on entry thru
the apex. Tyler just held on with the ill handling car not making
any big mistakes. We still ended up in the near the rear and would have
to come from the B-main.
After making adjustments for the push condition, Tyler was back out in
the B-main and started near the rear. On the opening lap, Tyler
was tapped from the rear going into turn one and resulted in Tyler
spinning. Tyler got it going without drawing a yellow but was
nearly a half lap behind. Tyler put his car on a rail and charged
up to third to make the transfer to the A-main. I could tell Tyler
wasn't happy and was lit up after the spin. No more mister nice
guy!

In the A-main Tyler had to start in the rear in one of the transfers
positions. He started going to the front and by lap 10 he had
picked off nearly half the cars and was running in approximately 12th
position. In making the pass on the next car Tyler pulled inside
going into turn one. The car on the outside decided to challenge
Tyler and the result was contact leading to both cars spinning out.
Tyler was able to catch his car but came across the infield over the big
asphalt berm which knocked off his chain, bent the right front spindle
and repositioned the right rear shock. Unfortunately for Tyler we
would be the 3rd car out which gave him a 26th place finish.
Tyler's finish isn't a good reflection of how he competed in a car that
he has run very limitedly. Tyler has run this car for the 5th
time and the venue is only his third time. Tyler definitely showed
that he'll be a driver to reckon with soon.
Tyler is on his way back again this next week for round two. We'll
get help in getting right back in this contest if we get a good clean
run. First place will only be able to start in the 10th spot at
best for the A-main. So if Tyler can earn the pole for the main
event he's ready to take the win! Good Luck Tyler!!!!!!!

We got to watch some exciting school bus races too. These guy's
like to go crazy out there mixing it up!
Sorry I don't have pictures..., I just didn't have time to get them.
Hopefully this next week.
June 7th - Press Release - Tyler
Goes to Charlotte!
Hardee's Summer shootout Series resumes starting next week in
Concord North Carolina at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Tyler will be
departing Sunday evening out of San Francisco on a Red Eye flight to get
to Concord on Monday. Monday Tyler will be present at the SKE
FACTORY has they get his Bandolero ready for the Monday nights practice.
Monday night Tyler will be shaking out his car at Lowe's Motor Speedway
in preparation for opening night Tuesday June 14th. Go Tyler!
If Tyler makes himself a front runner at the Series, it's going to be a
long summer has he will be traveling for 10 weeks in a row. This
will add to his already busy race schedule and put little Tyler
traveling some 5000 miles and racing some four nights each week.
Once again, Tyler normally runs multiple divisions each night as he is
obviously one tough little kid racer!
Series will air this coming November through January on Speed TV.
I will post the exact dates at a later time.
June 4th - Cycleland Speedway
Tyler sets fast time in the box stock division and 11th fast in the 250
division. Tyler doing his normal double duty was on hand and
putting on a great show in both division.
Tyler starting fourth row outside in the 16 kart field. Took very
little time to move into fourth and start working on catching the lead
group. In just a few more laps, Tyler had moved into 3rd and then
2nd. Coming to the wire it was Tyler Seavey taking the win with
Tyler Reddick finishing 2nd.
In the 250 division, they have been starting about 26 to 28 karts in the
main event. I believe this makes this division the raciest
division on the track all night long. You have a large mix of real
young drivers to older drivers getting ready to move up to the Open
Outlaw Division in the next year. Tyler started 2nd row inside
after winning his heat race. Tyler broke out on the start into 3rd
place and in a couple laps moved into 2nd. Thomas Bruckenstein was
in the led with Tyler in chase. Kyle Larson was on his way towards
the front and in just a few laps and yellows would restart behind Tyler.
Kyle made a pass on Tyler moving into 2nd and it was his turn to work on
Thomas. Tyler kept the pressure on Kyle Larson and Thomas but at
the checker flag it was Thomas Bruckenstein that who had just a little
to much for everyone else. Congratulations Thomas!
May 27th - Southern Oregon Speedway,
ALL-STAR TOUR round #2
Tyler and Team SKE had a great night. Tyler timed in 2nd
place to Tyler Seavey in the box stock division. In the 250
division, Tyler came in at 8th place after attempting a different line
in the second round of qualifying. The line change would have gave
Tyler a very fast lap but missing the mark at the top, Tyler left the
track costing him a good second round of qualifying. So Tyler's
first round qualifying was good enough for the 8th fast time.
The tour pulled in many drivers as all divisions needed C-mains to
determine the last four transfers to the A-main event. The 250cc
division is really growing fast as it seems to be a class of choice this
year. Many have step up into this division as most everybody
really likes the four-stroke 250 that can now be run.
Tyler won his first ever event by way of "Rain Delay!". After
passing James Edens on the outside, Tyler was on his way to first racing
back to the yellow flag. At the yellow it was Tyler, James Edens,
Chase Johnson and the race would never be restarted as rain began to
fall. The win draws Tyler and Edens even in Tour Points after the
two rounds.
Tyler finished 2nd in the box stock heat and won his 250 division heat
to place him in both the Dashes for Cash. In the dashes, Tyler
finished third in the box stock and four in the 250 division as the 250
was suffering from a flat right rear tire. Tire changes and Tyler
was ready for the 250 A-main.
In the 250 division, Tyler started 3rd row inside and raced his way up
to 4th. The front four were being paced by no other than Kyle
Larson. Kyle went on to take the win and Tyler made a couple of
mistakes at the very end to allow two drivers to get by him. Tyler
came in 6th at the checker flag and move up into the top ten in points
after having a rough start in round #1 of the tour.
I think everyone had fun in Medford as the racing was very good and the
track conditions were awesome considering the summer heat coupled with
evening rain and a thunder/lightning storm. After the race many
headed over to Slick Track courtesy of QRC and Robert Carrel "Thanks"
and finished their nights with lots of fun.
May 21st - Cycleland Speedway
Tyler was off to a great start with setting fast time in box stock
division and 8th quick in the 250 division. The night went on to
be just "one of those nights" where everything just didn't play out in
Tyler's advantage.
In the Box Stock A-main, it found Tyler being hooked up from behind by a
couple of over anxious drivers before the start. Track officials
did not see the problem prior to the start of the main. So, they
let the race go green and several laps passed with Tyler pulling a kart
behind him. So how they didn't spin during the green flag run.
Someone finally brought a yellow and the track officials finally
un-hooked the two karts putting them to the back. Now Tyler was
finally able to start to move up through the pack. Late in the
race, Tyler was making an attempt to pass for second place but
would have his move slowed by a lapper that sent Tyler backward.
Tyler finished up 5th in the box stock at the checkered.
Much was the same in the 250 division as Tyler would start 2nd row
inside. At the start, Tyler broke out 3rd and ran there for two
laps. On the 3rd lap, Tyler made his move going high into turn 3
and a lapper spun right in front of him. Somehow, Tyler was able
to thread the gap between the spun kart and the wall but gave up 6
positions doing it. Tyler found himself back in 9th and started
coming forward to finish 6th at the checker flag. Others, were not
so lucky when the same kart spun for a second time in the same place. As
they tried to get by between the wall and kart, one of three karts
trying to thread the gap didn't make it and ended their night with a
damage kart.
May 13th & 14th - So. Oregon Speedway / Cycleland Speedway
Tyler Reddick and Team SKE traveled to both Southern Oregon
Speedway for Friday nights race and then on to Cycleland Speedway for
points round #3. The trip took a toll on all the drivers making
the long haul with limited sleep. Kyle Larson, Mason Moore, Tyler
Reddick, Kyle Tellstrom and James Edens all were up until 3:00 am
Saturday morning as we pulled into Denny's Yreka for late dinner /
Breakfast. Tyler fell a sleep while eating an was completely worn
out the following day as we were up and going by 8:00 am.
We all had a great time traveling together, in fact all the boy's were
in the back of our Motor home playing PlayStation games on the trip back
in the early morning hours prior to getting to Denny's.

"Pistol" Pete Johnston and Tyler Reddick sharing winners
circle during the Trophy Dash races and the A-Main Events
Southern Oregon Speedway saw Tyler take the win in the first points race
of their season and James Edans coming in second. Tyler plans on
making the point series to contend for us first So. Oregon Speedway
Championship.
The win made it two in a row at S.O.S. and help set the stage for Tyler
to start making a run at Cycleland Speedway in the Box Stock Division as
well.
Tyler finished 5th behind Kyle Larson in the 125 division but score
keeper's currently have Tyler as a lap down and finishing 9th. It
is currently under review and pending outcome.
Cycleland Speedway saw Tyler almost mount a sweep by taking the Trophy
Dash Win and Then following it up with an impressive A-Main win coming
from the 3rd row start.
Tyler is current in the points lead at S.O.S. and will have moved into
2nd place at Cycleland Speedway in Box Stocks. I'm sure Tyler is
ready to start making a move to establish himself as the points leader
at Cycleland as well.
Tyler finished in the 13th position after starting from about 22nd in
the 125/250 division. Having trouble earlier in his heat race cost
him as he had to start very deep in the impressive field of 250
machines. Some 27 ~ 29 Karts per night start the A-Main in this
division as it has become one of the premiere classes in Outlaw Karting.
May 7, 2005 - Cycleland Speedway
In his first ever trophy dash appearance in the 250cc division, Tyler
takes the dash win from the pole position. Goes on to finish 5th
in the 250cc main event and establish himself in 4th place points
position. Kyle Larson is currently in first place with Mason Moore in
second and Thomas Bruckenstein in 3rd just 7 point in front of Tyler.
Things are looking good for Tyler in his attempt to earn "Rookie of the
Year" honors in the 250cc division. Its very early, but Tyler is
showing signs early of possibly taking home that trophy at year end.
Good Luck Tyler!
Tyler pulling double duty finished 2nd for the second week in the box
stock division. Tyler was in the first qualifying set with the
track still coming in and could only post a 13.127 for his quickest
time. Three of the dash drivers came from the last qualifying set
as the track just continued to come in quickly. The track is
trying a new qualifying format where the box stock division is the first
to hit the track breaking the track in. Years past it's been the
open division breaking in the track and would then return to qualify
after the rest.
Along with the new alignment in qualifying order there is also a change
in the points system. You no longer earn any points for heat
finishes. Only the kart's in the dashes receive points.
Tyler will be sporting a different motor this next coming week. So we'll
see if it puts him back in winner circle in the box stock division.
May 3, 2005 - Tyler Reddick Fan Club
work is now underway to establish a "Tyler Reddick Fan Club" to be
launched in the next up and coming weeks. There are plans for two
different levels for Fan Members.
Check back for further details...
Apr. 30, 2005 - Cycleland Speedway
Tyler set fast time in the Box Stock division, finished 5th in the
trophy dash and finished 2nd in the A-main event.
In the 125 /250 division running his Yamaha 250 cc machine, Tyler
qualified in 7th place which was a tie for 6th so the 2nd fastest lap
was the determining factor in who would earn the 6th and final spot for
the dash and automatic seed for the A-main.
In the fast heat, Tyler led it wire to wire putting on a show as he went
right to the top and checked out on the rest of the field earning him
the pole position for main event.

Kart can hit speeds of 70-75mph at turn entry. These are not like
quarter midgets and Don't try this at home!
On the start of the main Tyler took the lead and went back to work at the top.
Tyler checked out as he established an impressive half a lap lead that
was negated by an early yellow. Coming off the yellow Tyler went
back to work quickly as Kyle Larson had moved into 2nd. Tyler and
Kyle went on to check out on the rest of the field as the caught the
tail end of lead lap karts. Tyler and Kyle started coming through
the lappers and as they came up on a group of slower racer's Tyler dove
to the bottom and Kyle stayed high. Tyler spun giving the lead to
Kyle Larson. Kyle went on to win as he proved to be just too fast
for the field. Tyler was definitely the second fastest racer on
the track as he worked his way back to 5th after suffering the set back
from his spin.
Apr. 29, 2005 - Medford, Oregon
Tyler and Kyle Larson traveled to Medford Oregon to pick up some of
Southern Oregon Speedways action as it was their opening event. No
points so there was no tire rule in effect.
It was planned for Tyler to race just the 125 division with his Banke
Powered Honda 125 as you can not run 250cc machines in that division.
Once at the track, I decided to let Tyler race the other Karts as well.
So we signed Tyler up in the Box Stock, 125 and the open intermediate
divisions. Tyler would have to run his Yamaha powered 250 four
stroke in the Open division as we don't currently have an 500 cc power
plant available for Tyler.
Kyle Larson ran both the 125 and the open intermediate divisions.
Johnny Lentz showed up as well to take on the Medford group of racers.
The race pulled in some 90 plus karts which was a very good showing for
the Medford track. The race format would be qualifying, heat races
and mains.
Tyler for the first time ever, set the pace by pulling in fast time in
all three divisions. Kyle was 2nd fast in the Open division and managed
to squeeze out 2nd or 3rd fast time in his 125 machine as it had a
slight misfire due to a spark plug.
In the Box Stock division, Tyler won the fast heat starting last as they
lined up the field with a full invert. Tyler went on to win the
A-Main and lapped all the racers up to 2nd place as the checkered flag
was waived.
In the 125 division Kyle Larson starting from the 2nd row inside made
the pass on Tyler as Tyler hit a bump and climbed the track. Kyle
went on to make a move on 1st place during a race back to the yellow
flag. On the move Kyle went low and caught the inside berm which
sent his Kart cartwheeling. Kyle had to retire due to a flat tire.
Tyler suffered getting tangled during the same yellow and went to the
back. Tyler raced hard and recovered to a 6th place finish.
In the Open Intermediate division, Tyler decided to sit it out as we had
Cycleland to run the next evening. Kyle Larson moved to Tyler's
poll starting position and took the lead and checked out on the field.
The track conditions were very good and not dusty as this race was early
in the Medford season. We had lot's of fun and look forward to going
back soon.
Apr. 22, 2005 - Lakeport, Ca
Driving over under the clear blue sky, it looked very promising that the
race day would survive the threatening rain that was forecasted.
By 5:00 pm the wind cranked up and clouds came from out of nowhere.
Meanwhile, hot laps started and qualifying was underway as the first
rain drops started to fall. Track officials decided to cut the
normal race schedule to just main events that would be lined up off of
qualifying results with an invert.
The first race never made it out as the rain just continued to fall.

#98 - "Pistol" Pete Johnston in his SKE Open
Qualifying did see Kyle Larson turning the fastest lap of the day with a
9.5 and "Pistol' Pete Johnston having the 2nd fastest lap and Tyler
Reddick having the 3rd fastest lap of all the karts.

#11 - Tyler Reddick in his Banke 125cc Honda that's so...fast!
Tyler Reddick, running just two divisions set fast time in the box stock
division. Kyle Larson was fast time in the 125/250 division with a
9.66 and Tyler Reddick was 2nd fast with his first ever run of his 125 (
Tyler has been running a 250cc machine ) qualifying at 9.7. Kyle
went back out in the open division with his 125cc machine and set fast
time with a quick 9.5 effort, "Pistol" Pete was the fastest of all 500cc
machines turning in a 9.6.

LAST MINUTE ENTRY REDDICK GETS $800 LAKEPORT WIN
Outlaw Karts
by Gary Jacobs
Lakeport, CA -- Deciding at the last
minute to enter his 250 machine in the Open Outlaw Kart
action on Saturday afternoon, young 10 year old Tyler
Reddick from Corning led every lap of the A Main event
to score an $800 win in the special money race that
opened the 2005 season for the Lakeport Speedway outdoor
track. After two very successful specials to end the
indoor season the previous two weekends, promoter Blair
Aiken booked the money special for the outdoor track as
the outlaw kart teams complained that they had nowhere
to race on that weekend. Nearly 60 teams had appeared
for the $330 to win Outlaw Kart All Star Tour race the
previous Saturday, but only 16 Open Outlaws returned for
the higher paying race. Reddick planned to do double
duty between the Box Stocks and 125/250 Intermediate
classes, but decided on triple duty when the small
turnout was placing everyone in the feature action.
Reddick timed in fifth fast and ran second in the dash
to earn the outside front row start for the A Main.
Reddick led all the way and third starting Richard
Bailey ran second for the second straight week for a $70
payday. James Sweeney came from 9th for the $40 third
and 125/250 winner Kyle Larson battled back from an
early race spin to finish fourth. Larson had finished
second to Mason Moore's 250 the previous week in the
125/250 Intermediate action. This week, Larson hot
lapped a 250 but elected to race his normal 125. He
easily set fast time at 9.112 and ran second to Trevor Cristiani in the dash. Larson led every lap in the
feature for the $400 win and Jonny Lentz switched back
to his 125 for the feature action and raced to a $55
second. Moore started third and finished third for a $25
payday while pole starter Cristiani was fourth. In the
Box Stock action, newcomer Shane Hopkins from Camino
turned an outside front row start into a $250 win. It
was his first win ever and he is the son of Placerville
Speedway sprint car racer Eric Hopkins. Reddick came
from fifth for a $60 second and Chico's Mallorie McGahan
was a $30 third in her first ever Lakeport visit.
Previous week Outlaw Kart All Star Tour winner James
Edens sat on the pole, but settled for a 7th place
finish.
Reddick's decision to race his 250 with the 500 cc
Open Outlaw Karts gave that class a 16 kart turnout. A
two lap qualifying session determined the six karts that
would race in the dash for the front three rows in the
feature and Austin Kerns turned quick time at 9.078.
Kelsie Kennedy ripped off a 9.107, Bailey ran a 9.123,
Moore a 9.125 and Reddick a 9.169. Double division racer
Larson was sixth at 9.274. Previous week Outlaw Kart All
Star Tour winner Pete Johnston settled for 7th quick at
9.376. Larson took the dash honors ahead of Reddick,
Bailey, Moore, Kennedy and Austin Kerns. They would
start the main event in that order in the front three
rows. Johnston was the lone heat winner ahead of Emalee
Ramirez, Sweeney, Kyle Johson and Ron Lingron. The teams
were all concerned about their tires for the feature
action. Larson's crew chief, father Mike put a lot of
air in a new tire to get it to grow for the feature and
forgot to take some of the air out before the race
started. Larson buzzed his tires on the start and spun.
He pitted and Mike was able to remove a lot of the air
before the restart. Reddick managed to lead every lap
for the exciting win. Johnston was able to move through
the pack from 7th starting to challenge Bailey for 2nd,
but they had contact and Johnston fell back in the pack.
Bailey finished second with Sweeney third as Larson
drove back through the field for fourth. Johnston
recovered for a fifth ahead of Kennedy, A J Kerns,
Michael Forslund, Ron Lingron and Eric Carlson.
There were 11 125/250 Intermediates, but Danny
Andreasen broke in hot laps to end his day. The first
kart to run, Larson easily set fast time with his 9.112
lap with Moore second at 9.249. Reddick ran a 9.406 and
Cassie Millhouse had a 9.409. Lentz used his 250 for
time trials and the dash and ranked fifth with a 9.425.
Cristiani rounded out the dash field with a 9.502.
Cristiani won the dash from the pole to sit on the pole
for the main event. Larson came from sixth to finish
second in the dash ahead of Moore, Reddick, Lentz and
Millhouse. The lone heat race was won by Alissa Geving
ahead of Marty Hawkins, Tyler Taylor and Jeremy
Andreasen. Larson jumped into the lead at the start of
the main event and was never headed for the $400 win.
Lentz moved over to his 125 for the feature and came
from fifth to place second with Moore's 250 in third.
Cristiani settled for a fourth ahead of Geving, J
Andreasen, Taylor and M Hawkins. Reddick finished 10th
behind Cassie Millhouse.
The busy Reddick easily set fast time for the dozen
Box Stocks with a 9.781 effort. McGahan quickly adapted
to the new track with a 9.950 for second and Kyle
Tellstrom ranked third with a 9.951. Edens ran a 10.010
and Chase Johnson had a 10.062. Hopkins was sixth at
10.181. Edens did win the dash ahead of Hopkins, C
Johnson, Tellstrom, Reddick and McGahan. Jeremy Doss won
the lone heat race ahead of Indoor Beginner Box Stock
champion Riley Matson, Austin Pace and Cavin Hawkins.
Hopkins got his first ever feature win from the pole
with fifth starting Reddick in second. McGahan came from
sixth to place third ahead of Tellstrom, C Johnson,
Doss, Edens, A Pace, Matson and Kelsey Blackwood.
The regular point season for the outdoor track runs
on Friday nights starting April 8th and they are in
action on a roughly every other week schedule in 2005.

Three Division Racer Tyler Reddick comes home 2nd in the Box
Stock and in his debut in the Open division takes the win for
$800.00! Congratulations Tyler!
Lakeport Speedway was holding the first of their Money Races this year.
The regular schedule has been reduced to about half the normal summer
races, with no points series.
The Kart count was down, but many notables were on hand to take to the
track, trying to score their part of the monies up for grabs. The
Open Division would pay $800 to win, 125/250 Division would pay $450 to
win and $250 to win in the Box Stock Division.

Kyle Larson, Mason Moore, Tyler Reddick, Haley Reddick, Kyle
Tellstrome
As a last minute decision, Dad sent Tyler to sign up in the Open
Division with his 250. Tyler qualified for the dash in all three
race divisions, finished 5th in the Box Dash, 5th in the 125/250 Dash and
2nd to Kyle Larson in the Open Dash. Not sure what happened to Pete
Johnston, as I saw his qualifying effort, which certainly looked plenty
good to make the dash, but placed him somewhere outside the top six?

Tyler and family after his Open Main event win!
Tyler took to the track in the Box Stock division first. With the
start having some contact in front of Tyler, Tyler pulled up hard to
avoid the troubles, but slid back early. Not wasting any time Tyler
was up on the front runners quickly. The field had one very slow
Kart making rounds on the track of which the leaders would lap about
every two laps. The Kart proved to be a real problem for Tyler
three times. Tyler had to pull up very hard again after making a
strong inside move on some of the leaders to avoid pounding the slow
kart. Tyler went to the infield and lost nearly 1/2 a lap.
Tyler, quick to recover, was back on the leaders and 2nd and 3rd tangled
giving Tyler 2nd place. Tyler was quickly moving up on the leader and
here came the slow kart again, which just couldn't seemingly get out of
Tyler's way. Tyler lost some ground but came home 2nd.

#11 Tyler Reddick in his SKE BOX STOCK - Graphic's by MopHead
I didn't get to watch most of the race as I was readying his 250 mount
for the 125 race, as Tyler would have to trade karts quickly, because all
of the races would be back-to-back for the young 10 year old.
Tyler quickly changed karts as the field waited. I had just changed
the rear tires, as they had been burned off in the previous races.
Not enough time was available to get the stagger correct as I sent Tyler
out for the 250 race. Tyler found the Kart too tight and left the
race to allow Dad more time to get it right for the Open Division.

The 3 winner's of the day! Shane Hopkins Box, Kyle Larson 125, Tyler
Reddick Open
Tyler earned the outside pole next to Kyle Larson. At the start
Tyler took the lead and never looked back. Tyler led the Open
race wire to wire, as there were many yellows and lots of position
changes happening behind him. Kyle Larson had suffered the same
fate as Tyler earlier in the 250 race as his Dad didn't get the tires right
with the quick schedule.
At the first yellow, Kyle pitted as Dad made what adjustments he could
in short order. Kyle
went to the back of the 16 kart field and worked his way back up to
fourth place by race end. Great job Kyle...! Pete Johnston,
after trying to make a pass on Richard Bailey for second, fell back a few places as
they tangled. Tyler came home first, with Richard Bailey 2nd, Kyle
Larson was fourth. More on the complete finishing order later.

Tyler getting out after the Open A-Main Event Win!
I can't believe how many people came over and gave Congratulations to
Tyler and I. Tyler drove so smooth and consistent, hardly making
any mistakes in which Richard Bailey could capitalize on. Each lap
I was worried that he wouldn't hold on. But Tyler never faltered
nor did he ever show signs of being tired. After nearly 3 full
divisions he proved again his true desire to win and his love for
racing.
Tyler has now most likely done what no other kid has done by winning an
Open A-main at age and on his debut. Most the field had drivers
closer to the age of 16 - 21 years old.
Mar. 31st - Tyler's Summer Schedule - News Release
Tyler Reddick to compete in Lakeport's
Outdoor Summer Race's, Cycleland Speedway's Box Stock, 125 / 250
Divisions. Plus starting June 14th travel for ten weeks to Lowe's
Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Hardee's Summer
Shootout Series in his 600 racing Bandolero.
Tyler will be doing double duty all summer as he competes
in his Outlaw Kart at all three venues ( Lakeport, Cycleland Speedway
and the All-Star Tour ). In addition, his weeks will get even busier
as in June we'll add Lowe's Motor Speedway to the already busy rotation.
Currently Tyler is looking for a sponsor to pick up the Summer Shootout
10 race
Series were the Sponsor will receive the following coverage.
Sides, rear deck and roof of Tyler's Bandolero car. Plus, they get
the added attention of Speed Channel's coverage from inside Tyler's car
with their in-Car Cam. Placard with sponsor's name will be located
inside on the dash to obtain excellent advertising. All ten races
are to be televised giving the sponsor excellent visibility.
Any interested sponsors should contact Clarence Reddick at 530-824-5434
Monday thru Friday for any questions.
Mar. 30th - Craig Morgan and Broken Bow Records
Craig Morgan with his number #1 song "What I love About Sunday"
has ruled the Country Music charts again this week.
This makes the song's stay at #1 the 3rd week. Broken Bow Records
is setting it's sights on a 4th week.
When the song went number #1 for it's second week, it marked only the
second time that a Independent Label has done this. The last time
it was done was back in 1977. Nobody since has been able to
accomplish this milestone. Now if the song can remain #1 for the fourth
week it will tie the all-time record. If it goes a 5th week, it
will have done what no other independent label has ever done! The
fourth week is already looking good ....So, Congratulations to
Benny Brown of Corning California and his team back in Nashville,
TN.! Good Luck!!
(Broken Bow Records is a sponsor of Tyler Reddick Racing)
Mar. 26th - Lakeport All Star tour #1

Tyler's his new paint scheme (MopHead vinyl and Graphic's) and kart were on the money.
He cranked out fast time in qualifying, won the fast heat and finished
3rd in the dash. For the main event, they would all line up as
they finished in the dash, with the following rows being determined by
heat finishes. Tyler started from the 2nd row inside behind Kyle Tellstrome. Kyle and Tyler broke out in the lead from the start.
Tyler started working on Kyle and while completing the pass on the
inside, up on the berm, started to spin and then recovered to let only
3rd place get by him. Now James Edans was in second and on the
very next lap Kyle Tellstrome broke giving the lead to James, with Tyler
in second. The two started to pull away from the field and Tyler
made a couple of attempts to get by James. James held on to make
it two in a row over Tyler at Lakeport and start the Tour with the lead.
Congratulations James!

Tyler was pulling double duty, as he was also running his 250 in
the 125 / 250 class. With the addition of the necessary weight, I
had to be tuning for the first few rounds to get the chassis correct.
Tyler qualified 14th, finished 4th in the heat and would have to make
the A-main via the B-main. Tyler started the B-main on the outside
pole. Tyler took the lead from the start and never looked back
lapping most the field,
taking the win and moving on to the A-main. In the A-main, Tyler
was involved in an early wreck involving many karts. The contact
broke his wing loose, after a quick pit stop and with Pistol Pete's
help, Tyler was able to resume the race. Tyler then ended the
night with a couple of spins in an effort where he was just trying to go
to the front too quick. The track just didn't have anything on the
outside to hold on to and Tyler was making some early passes out there,
but would get loose, ending in a spin.

"Pistol" Pete Johnston came home with a nice win in the Open
A-main showing some great driving and patience. Congratulations
Pete!
Mar. 23rd - Broken Bow Records
Broken Bow Records of Nashville, TN has done what hasn't been done in
almost 30 yrs. Craig Morgan with his #1 song "What I Love About
Sundays" is the first time since 1977 that an independent label ( Record
Company ) has held a number one song on the charts for more than a week.
Craig has been #1 for two weeks and is hoping for a third by this
weeks end.
Broken Bow Records is one of Tyler Reddick's two main sponsors. Check out all of
the BBR Artists at
www.brokenbowrecords.com and catch Craig's single on CMT and GAC.
Also be watching for a new single called "Hick Town" by Jason Aldean
coming very soon. Tyler and I like the girls!
Mar. 19th - Lakeport Perpetual Trophy
Many of the Red Bluff Outlaws regulars visited Lakeport for their
Perpetual Trophy - Hillside Honda's Night of racing.
Along with the big trophy night, many were drawn to town getting ready
for the first Tour Race coming up March 26th. In addition to
Lakeport's normal race events, the open intermediate class was added
which pulled a good turn out.
In the Beginner Box it was Seavey coming home with the big trophy. In
the Box Stock class, it looked as Tyler Reddick was going to take it
after earning the pole position in the heat and dash race's. But
James Edans was able to get passed Tyler on the start with Tyler racing
him hard right behind on his tail, looking inside and outside and almost
made the pass. "Congratulations James!"
In the 125/250 class it was Kyle Larson taking the Win! "Congratulations
Kyle!" While Kyle was out front, Chase Hill filled in for Tyler in
the 125/250 A-main as we decided to have Tyler set it out because it
would be run before the Box Stock main event. Plus, Chase's motor
broke earlier leaving him without a ride for the rest of the day.
It was real fun watching Chase drive Tyler's Kart to a 6th place finish
in the A-main.
Pete Johnston wheeled his way to a 3rd place finish in his new Copeland
supported ride.

Feb. 26th - Lakeport Ca.
With the Red Bluff Winter Series complete, a few drivers made the
trip to Lakeport California for what was the last points night in their
series. I had asked Tyler not to be a factor in the points outcome,
making sure that he stay clean in any attempts to pass. With that
being said, I felt better going racing to win.
We put our best effort forward and fielded both the Box Stock and 250
divisions. I think Tyler had been watching Kyle Larson's video
tape from a few weeks ago, as Kyle seriously ran away from the field in
the open division prior to running out of fuel. Tyler, in the 250
division, was attacking the track with some fierce determination.
Making some great outside - in moves for passes. I had not seen
Tyler drive his 250 at this level. In Tyler's first heat he finished 4th coming from the last row outside. In the 2nd heat he
finished 2nd at the checker after leading all the way. Coming out of
turn 4, he encountered a lapper with Noel McCormick on his tail.
Tyler committed to the bottom, but so did the lapper. Noel made a
great move taking the win on the outside of Tyler coming to the flag.
In the box stock, Tyler ran both heats in 3rd trying to pass for 2nd.
The track was a single groove with very little passing happening.
While trying to pass in both heats, he allowed the kart behind him to
slip by. Tyler had to settle for 4th in both heats. After no
dash appearance for Tyler, he started in the 4th row outside in the
A-main. From there he went to work and moved into 4th. Kyle Tellstrome went home with the win with James
Eden's 2nd and Cameron
Bartlett 3rd. Congratulations to Cameron on his Championship at
Lakeport Winter Series.
Back in the 250 class, Tyler started 3rd row inside, as he was the
alternate for the trophy dash. Tyler quickly went to work and made
a very strong move inside for a pass for 2nd place. A yellow flag
flew, which caused Tyler's pass to be null-and-void as he would restart 3rd.
After the restart, Tyler kept a nice pace with the two leaders and as
they came upon traffic someone spun causing some contact with Tyler.
Tyler avoided being involved, but gave up another position. Meanwhile behind Tyler, Jason Mitry was making his way up the field and was
behind Tyler. Tyler later went sideways leaving turn 2 taking him
through the infield. Tyler re-entered the track at the tail end and
started moving back towards the front. After a few laps, several
karts tangled in front of Tyler closing off the track with nowhere to
go. Tyler slowed, but piled in. Again the race went green and Tyler
went back to work moving up and finished 5th and Jason Mitry finished
3rd.
It was a great job by both the two drivers showing their skills in the
250 division.
Mason Moore raced to a 4th or 5th place finish in the Open
Division. Great Job Mason!
Feb. 22nd - Red Bluff Outlaws
Tyler Reddick has finished 3rd place in the championship standings.
It was a very tough series with some very good driving from start to
finish. Tyler Reddick wishes to Congratulate Chase Hill on his
Championship at Red Bluff as it is his first ever!
Also, Congratulations to Kyle Larson on his Championship win at Red
Bluff. I think that makes him a winner of every possible event
held in Outlaw Kart Racing! Great Job Kyle!
Tyler had a very fast kart with setting fast time in qualifying, he
moved back into 2nd place for the time being. In the first heat
race, we needed a win plus needed Chase Hill to finish 2nd or 3rd to
help get our Championship hunt alive. Tyler was not able to finish
better than 4th in his heat race which cost him some very tough points.
Plus, it also kept us from starting the A-main event up front as he had
to transfer from the B-main.
In the B-main, I must say that I have never seen a box stock cut the lap
times that Tyler put down. He was running 9.81's which was ever so
close to the 9.7's I used too run in my open. He had some very
pretty laps as he lapped up to 5th place. That was all done with
there even being several yellows to catch up the field.
I am very happy with the outcome of the Red Bluff Winter Series this
year!
We now look forward to what the summer holds for us. Tyler will compete
in both the box stock and the 125/250 division at Cycleland Speedway
during this summer. In addition, I'm looking for some other venues
in which to start Tyler racing in open wheel dirt with suspension.
Not sure, but looking at Modified Midgets as one possibilities for Tyler
as we are also looking forward to racing in the next years Tulsa Winter
Shootout in Tulsa Oklahoma. That event is held at the same
track as the Chili Bowl just one week ahead. Some 1200
participants will compete in that event in many different classes.
Tyler will also be running his Bandolero at Lowe's Motor Speedway when
the Summer shootout Series kick's off in June/July. So be watching Speed TV for these events.
Feb. 17th - Tour Race March 26th
The first Tour race will be March 26th at Lakeport, Ca. The track
has of late been prepared with an off camber bottom grove giving
the track two distinctive lines for racing.
Lakeport will be holding the Perpetual Trophy night
of racing the weekend before the tour race. Many may wish to go compete as a tune up for the first
tour race. Name of the tour to be released at a later date.
As of this date, no word on the fate of the 125/250 division clarifying
if 250's can compete in the 125 division. I believe it will be
only 125's this year. I will update as soon as I can find out.
Should be a great race that everyone can count on as it will be held on
the indoor track.
Feb. 12th - Red Bluff Outlaws
The second to last round of the Winter Series at the Red Bluff Outlaw's
saw some exciting racing throughout the evening. Track conditions
were good and the weather was pleasant.
The Night saw some first time events happening getting ready for next
years rounds of racing. The 250 four strokes saw there first event
with one round of qualifying, a trophy dash and a main event.
Another first was "Pistol Pete" racing a 250cc four stroke powered
machine in the 500 Open Division trophy dash. It was just about
like Pistol taking a pea-shooter into a gun fight! Pete gave
it his best and it actually held its own but just didn't have the corner
exit speed along with giving up straight-a-way speed. In a way, it was a
great demonstration of what the limits of the 250 actually are.
The 250's are fast, very fast!
In the Box Stock division, Chase Hill won for his 3rd time and will
have a points lead going into the final round. Jason Mitry is 2nd and Tyler will be 3rd. Jason will have a
5 point
lead over Tyler and first place is yet all but locked up with Chase
having a 9 point lead over Jason.
In the 250 division, Tyler Reddick qualified 2nd fast, had a dnf in the
dash and finished 2nd place in the 250 main event to Dillon Silverman.
Jacob Miller finished 3rd with a nice run.
Feb. 11th - Red Bluff Outlaws to run 250's
This coming weekend, Bob Carrel has said that he will run the 250's in a
separate race as a test for next year.
Depending on time and kart count, the 250's will run in a separate race
for exhibition and testing purposes. Many drivers have committed
to run this coming weekend Feb 12th.
Good luck and have fun!
Du Quoin Nationals - Revisited!
Thinking back on our trip to Du Quoin, I must say we had a very good
time. I expected some delays from a new Organization, Plus
they had over 230 karts to get run in an inaugural Event. So
all in all, it went pretty good.
We couldn't of had better weather for the entire trip. It was
clear roads out and back. We even had 65 degree weather coming
back through Kansas and Denver. We got to see some places we had
never been before and had a very nice lunch in Du Quoin in some well
known Italian restaurant.
On top of it all, we won everything out of our trailer in the Outlaw
Classes. The facility was beautiful and approximately 4 times the
size of Red Bluff. I think there will be some very good racing
coming out of Du Quoin in the near future. So to look back, I am
very glad we went to help participate in their first event featuring
Outlaw Karts.
Good luck to Du Quoin in their future racing efforts!
Thanks
Feb. 5th - Red Bluff Outlaws
After days of preparation of Tyler's racing equipment by Dad to make
certain that Tyler was in a position to take a win, we still suffered
failures.
During the week in preparation, I spent a full day of Dyno testing
Tyler's motor. I found many areas in which me made improvements in
power. I also took Tyler's Kart down to the frame to check and
service every aspect as to leave nothing un-covered before the event.
Off and on, we have been having problems with the head studs in our main
Red Bluff motor. But I had just fitted it with a fresh new head
gasket and had confidence that we were good to go...
Race day upon us, Tyler came down with the flu and was given Advil to
control his fever. It seemed that we still had most everything
under control with the night looking like a win until the closing
laps of the main event. After successfully pulling away in the
opening laps with Jason Mitry and Chase Hill in 2nd and 3rd, around the
17 lap mark the race saw a series of yellow flags. With 4 or 5
attempts from Jason on the restarts, Jason was able to take advantage of
Tyler. Jason got a good jump on the start and pushed hard into
turns 1 - 2, at the same time Tyler drifted up as he car got loose in
turn 2 and Jason pulled beside Tyler. They raced down the back
stretch and into turns 3 - 4 side by side. Jason now on the inside
took the lead leaving Tyler on the outside with 3 more karts inside of
him nose to tail. Tyler finished 5th.
So, we'll work hard on the program again this week. The race for
the championship is very tight in this class. The top 3 in points
are still only separated by 4 points.
Tyler will be ready this coming week with even more determination than
last. So here we come Chase and Jason.....
Tyler will be at his best! So let's race it out clean and find us
a new Red Bluff Outlaw Champion! Good Luck!
Go Tyler!
Jan 29th - Lakeport, Ca Indoor Series
Again there is a few that just can't say no to racing...., if there's a
race they're racing. Kyle Larson, Mason Moore, Brian Southers,
Casey McClain, Max Adams and Tyler Reddick were on hand to help heat up
the Lakeport Winter Series! With a couple weeks off from the Red
Bluff Outlaws Series, many took advantage of heading to Lakeport to stay
sharp and just have fun.
Lakeport changed the track configuration, making a much racier track for
some very good racing. Many commented on the fast improving
conditions at Lakeport.
Staying Sharp? would have been an understatement in the case of
Kyle Larson. Kyle put down some of the best laps in Outlaw Kart
racing that I've seen ever! He dominated the
122.63 cc division and
absolutely was smoking red hot in the Open division.
Kyle won the 125 Main event and the Trophy Dash. Tyler Reddick won his
first heat in the 125 racing his SKE BRE 250 mount and finished 3rd in the
second heat to come up one spot short of the trophy dash. In the
main, Tyler was running approximately 5th when the race went yellow.
On the yellow, as they pace very slowly, Tyler went to pull in the clutch
and clear his motor and it died. After assistance, they put him to
the back for the re-start. Dad had them give Tyler the Black Flag
so he could just concentrate on his Box Stock Main. Tyler wasn't
happy with Dad!
Tyler Reddick, after winning the trophy dash, would start the main event
on the pole position. On the initial start, Tyler and Chase
Johnson pulled to the front. Chase got a great run coming off of turn 4
and actually made a pass on Tyler, but the yellow was already out and
they don't race to the yellow at Lakeport. The field was reset with
Tyler in the lead and Chase 2nd. The involved cars of Casey
McClain and Kyle Tellstrom were put to the back. On the re-start,
Tyler made sure there wouldn't be any replay of the original start and
charged to the front. Lap after lap Tyler slowly pulled away from
Chase working through lappers. When Tyler came up on some of the
other fast karts the passes became harder. By race end it was
Tyler, Cameron Bartlett, and Chase Johnson at the flag. I guess at
race end, Cameron Bartlett was able to get under Chase Johnson coming to
the flag. So I need to stand corrected as I thought it was Chase 2nd.
In the open division Kyle Larson was starting 9th. I walked up to
the track to watch the race, but missed the openin |
