With a non-points night of racing scheduled at Cycleland,
Tyler was able to take a planned break and get what was his
first non-racing vacation in over 4 years.
The Adams family made plans to join us as we all headed off
up north to a place called "Lake Chelan" in central Washington.
We rented a house on the lake with private boat dock and
boat lifts to make our boating the best it could be.
The only unexpected thing was the fires burning up a little
further north around Steheiken just 40 miles up lake.
For anyone interested, Lake Chelan is a very clean clear
water lake with great lakeside amenities, fishing, boating and
even a waterslide park.
I found it some 20 years ago on one of my hang gliding
adventures.
This would be the first time our family would visit the lake.
We all had a great time and really enjoyed having the Adams join
us on this trip. Looks like another trip will be in the
future.
Next year we'll see who else makes the trip to Chelan Lake
for racer friends taking their fun to a different place doing
different things! |
