Where it all Started

Tyler's very first Trophy came at Ukiah Speedway on May 5th of 2001.
He was very excited about this first trophy as he had just come off of
the Red Bluff Outlaws indoor Series.
This was during his first year of racing and its hard to believe just how
small Tyler was! I don't remember his weight at the time but you
can see his knees aren't any higher than the height of the front tires.
That's Small!
I can recall the whole family being excited that Tyler might actually
get a trophy that night. We just hoped that things would go as
good in the main event as they had been going all day.
This was Tyler's first kart that we purchased from the Kavert family.
Zachery had been racing this kart over the past year and he had a new
kart of which he was dominating Red Bluff Outlaws with. Tyler
would sit and watch Zachery every race and could see the determination
that filled his mind when he would hit the track. I think Tyler
has always remembered this.

I think this picture was taken right after Tyler had won a heat race
earlier in the day. He was ready to go get it done in the main
event.
Tyler has always made everyday at the races fun and inspires dad to
perform the hustle that it takes to be as ready as I can for him every
week.

Now we can't forget to show Sister Haley as she has always been there
for Tyler too.

When Tyler was given his trophy, which seemed to take forever while
waiting, Tyler was so so proud that he walked out into the middle of the
pit area and held the trophy high above his head. Not something I
showed him to do.

Shortly after that race, Papa had been busy working on Scott Kavert to
purchase Zachery's latest kart in which he won the Red Bluff Outlaws Box
Stock division. It wasn't until a later time that Tyler was given
the kart as the plan had been for Tyler to use it starting the Red Bluff
Winter Series. Here on the day that Tyler first saw the Kart...,
he was again very excited and just knew he would have to be fast in this
Rocket!
In
this picture you can see again just how small Tyler was, he couldn't
even see over the front cowl.
Tyler went on to win the Beginner Box Stock Championship with this kart,
which was then sold to the Dougherty's and is seen here on the front
page of the Red Bluff Outlaws in this interesting shot by Jack Waterman
as they make once again the photo of the week.
Interesting
to see where both the kart and drivers go sometimes. This kart has
still been very fast and has taken some pretty rough rides over the years.
Just remember that this is a two-time championship winning kart at Red
Bluff Outlaws.
Well, we hope you enjoyed this!
