2005 ~ Year in Review
Looking back at Tyler Reddick’s 2005 Season and
reviewing the year, many things stand out as Tyler’s accomplishments
were many and his growth showed substantial promise for the years ahead.
The main points are reviewed here as Tyler had a
great year and stayed on pace with his pursuit to fulfill his long term
dreams in racing.
Championships
Added:
QRC Tour ~ So. Oregon Speedway ~ Cycleland
Speedway ~ Red Bluff Nationals
2005 saw Tyler win 4 additional Championships to
add to his credit. As Tyler added the QRC Box Stock Tour title to
his list of championships, it wasn’t an easy race series as it went down
to the wire with the series closing out at Red Bluff Outlaws. In Red
Bluff anything can happen as it is the bullring of racing in this
series. Tight close quarters racing filled with slamming and banging
that can end your night of racing at anytime. So anything can happen
which make the tensions high closing out a series. Add to it, not being
able to run double divisions at Red Bluff and having to sit out of the
box stock series while the other series contenders refine and improve
there efforts for several races. Tyler closed out the series in high
fashion with qualifying 2nd fast time and finishing the night
in 4th to take home the QRC title.
Tyler also added the 2005 Southern Oregon
Speedway Box Stock Title to his list of accomplishments. While
demonstrating his dominance in the box stock division, Tyler also became
one the favorites among the locals as he was putting up great numbers in
all three divisions of which he was running. Even after sitting out the
first race of the 250 division, Tyler made it a tight race for the
championship in that division and finished it by winning the last 2
races ending up 2nd in the championship. Tyler also finished
3rd in the 125 division championship standings. Tyler had to
pull triple duty all season at Southern Oregon Speedway.
Tyler made his debut in the Open division at the
Lakeport Outdoor series track. At just 10 yrs old he out gunned the
best in the in business beating drivers like Larson, “Pistol” Pete
Johnston, Bailey and others as his took home the $800 to win leading it
wire to wire.
Tyler made his second run and also his debut at
the Open Outlaw division at Cycleland Speedway 100 lapper. Tyler
came home again in a displaying his talents at his very young age
finishing 3rd in race that saw thirty plus driver taking to
the A-main start. A Tyler forte, staying out of trouble, heads up
driving and patience brought him a great finish in one of the toughest
races of the year.
Tyler garnished his stats with take home the
“Highly” prestigious Red Bluff Nationals Title in the Box Stock
division. This race saw Tyler for the first time in several years
become reunited with Steve Goodrich of MBS motors. Steve put together a
first class motor for Tyler to debut at the Nationals. Steve has helped
many a driver in National events all other the country of the years.
Tyler wishes to thank Steve for all his efforts. Tyler proved to be
unstoppable on that three days of racing for the Championship.
Tyler added yet another Box Stock title by taking
the Cycleland Speedway title for the second year in a row. This
series saw a tight battle with James Edans who seemingly had the field
covered on any given night. But Tyler’s maturity in this division and
his ability to avoid trouble and run consistent top 3 finishes along
with winning earned Tyler another championship in a tight contest.
In a year that was scheduled to be a transition
year for Tyler moving from just running Box Stocks to taking on the
bigger faster machines of the 125, 250 and even the Opens, Tyler
answered with demonstrating time and time again that he’ll be a driver
to contend with in the upper divisions.
Tyler added additional Sponsors to his credit by
picking up the Butler Auto Group and Elite Sports Photography
out of Southern Oregon. Tyler was also added to the Randy Lajoie
driver development program.
Many forget while comparing Tyler to other racer’s
like Larson, Moore, Bloom and Bruckenstein that Tyler is only 10 years
old while they have at least a three to six year advantage over the very
young racer. As Tyler races these other talented drivers, one usually
forgets the age of Tyler while his on the track racing he appears more
like a driver of their same age.
Make no mistake, being young and the underdog is
how Tyler likes it and is always “I mean always” up to the challenge and
ready to go racing against any of them anytime anywhere. Tyler loves
his racing and loves cars. Where you find Tyler you will usually find a
car. If he’s not racing them then he is usually playing with them.
Tyler races with a big heart and with a mutual
respect for others on the track and always puts his best foot forward
running with consistency that is sure to help carry him a long way in
the future.
For next years review I can wait, things like Tyler
being the only two time winner of the Red Bluff Nationals,
driving a full midget and other things as Tyler continues his growth in
the sport he loves.
Tyler wishes to thank all his supporters fans and
sponsors alike. Thank you for supporting Tyler Reddick and he’ll see
you at the track. |
